About
I wrote these pages in response to a person on Facebook (BR S) telling me that Elvis didn't let black people into his concerts. I liked the way he said it. He was really polite, didn't curse or belittle me, he just said it in a conversational way. In that moment it hit me that to many people the rumour that was started in 1957 is still an absolute truth. That made me think 'wow if a myth is still out there then that means people may not have read the facts'.
I have to thank BR S because he has made me super passionate about the Elvis story and its place in the history of rock and roll for the first time in nearly thirty years. I had done much of the research in my teens before retcon and deep fakes were a thing so I knew what I was looking for and boy is it good to have the internet. Was also bowled over to find a generation of YouTube influencers reacting to songs. Social media is a powerful tool for sharing good.
If you hate Elvis then at least take a moment to discover what Jet magazine found when they investigated the racial slur he is alleged to have made. They did this when the allegation was still fresh and they were in segregation times so they were ready for anything. Corny as it sounds the truth is out there.
