Alan Shearer remains tight lipped about the future of English football but
seasoned players who know the legend understand his message.. In this
picture Al helps players remember what the goal looks like.
A very serious Alan Shearer showing players where to find a goal
Scott led a hand picked team of Muftis. In pre-match parlay Scott convinced Niyi to argue to leave Avvon where he was. When the match started Niyi learned that Avvon was actually on Scott's side. No one can fathom how Scott manages these things but the clear thing is that Scott will lead when we negotiate TV rights.
With seven players still haunted and not having scored since before the 12 - 0 thrashing change was needed. Andyhibbert and Austin were separated on to different sides. Austin was asked to captain the Bibs.
Andyhibbert was the first of the haunted to smash home a goal and come off of the list. Scott had a team of power strikers who edged the match in the early stages but they were playing against a team with an extra man so it was easier to smother the five Muftis. As the match wore on Anthonyto got his well deserved and long awaited goal and joined JakeFlowers and AndyHibbert off of the list. With Kaichan's assist Niyi scored and he too came off of the list. Playing like men possessed Austin's team were destroying Scott's. By the time other team began to arise Anthonyto had scored his second goal; the Bibs lead 7 - 5 and Andyhibbert, Avvon, JonF, Milo and Scott were on the verge of going down to a totally unexpected defeat.
Players who have been around long enough will understand the phenomenon of the Spirit of the Toon last felt on 4 February 2015 . The Spirit of the Toon does not grant players victory all that it does is descends on players and causes them to play to their true potential. Staring defeat in the face Scott suddenly went on a blistering run weaving round player after player before scoring out of nothing. Surprised and concerned the Bibs were bewildered but knew the gate would soon open and a victory would be theirs.
Then out of nowhere Avvon was suddenly possessed by the same spirit as Scott and almost in a balletic daze he weaved through player after player after player before stabbing the ball home. Out of nothing the Muftis had levelled the score at 7 - 7.
The other team said our time was up. Kaichan pleaded for last goal wins but other players advised him to accept the Noble Draw. The night ended all even with a 14 goal thriller. We had heeded Alan Shearer's silent message and players had found the goal at last. Experienced players wondered if big Al is really the living embodiment of the Spirit of the Toon.
Final score Muftis 7 - 7 Orange Bibs.
Things to Note
- Austin ended his first game as a captain with a draw.
- Only four players remain on the haunted list. They know themselves.
- We do not have cameras at our matches yet so please follow the link below to see the closest approximation of Scott and Avvon's goals. The only thing is we suspect that Avvon and Scott may have beaten more players in a tighter space.
