Because of the extra cost each player will see an additional £4.35 charge (JonF £4.30) added to their account to cover the difference between our normal £25 and this week's £89. JonF got us a seven a side pitch and we agreed that we would allow above head height football. It was a joy to see players free to float the ball across the pitch, trap the ball on their chest and bring it out of the air.

The Dark Tops broke the stalemate and edged to a two goal lead. In achieving this Avvon scored one of the most curious goals in the club's recorded history. It was a trade mark Avvon power strike. It went narrowly wide of the left post. The keeper strolled round the post to collect the ball. The ball ricocheted off of the backboard, hit the keeper's leg then arced across the face of the goal and into the net. Silence struck the fixture as player's wondered at the type of back spin that must have been on the shot. Goal awarded.

Some say that the road to Last Chance Saloon consists of losing several matches in a row and then scoring own goals. :(

For a while it was 2 - 0 to the Dark Tops. Andyhibbert had scored a more regulation goal where surrounded by about three players he spied the route to goal shot and scored, leaving the keeper rooted to the spot. At the other end as later reported by JakeFlowers the Bibs hit the post and had several decent shots saved as the Dark Tops played a blinder. It became clear that most of the Dark Tops team were used to playing together on a larger pitch with standard rules and they also had Avvon. As such when half time came the six Dark Tops kindly did not ask for a player to swap sides.

If Avvon's goal was crazy then next goal will be talked about as long as players lace their boots to play at Tottenham Wednesday FC. Everyone knows Jermaine is cool, he sometimes plays with his hands in his pockets and walks with the ball. This week he was doing that Barkball thing where he was quietly talking the defence and the midfield through how to stop attacks and build up counters. Finding himself with the ball just over the halfway line Jermaine gently sent the ball towards the goal To understand how delicately the ball was prodded you need to think how the stone moves in the winter Olympics sport of curling. Well Jemaine's ball went slower and smoother than that straight down the middle of the pitch. Players watched the ball wondering if it would actually reach the goal. It did and Austin who was keeping bent down to pick the ball up and it slipped gently through his hands, through his legs and crawled across the line. No one could understand what happened.

Suddenly out of nothing the Bibs had scored to reduce the difference to only 2 - 1 to the Dark Tops. Furious the Dark Tops scored again to make it 3 - 1 and regain their two goal advantage.

Statistically JakeFlowers had hit one of his most barren chances to goals ratios in months as the Dark Tops had been excellent in their goal keeping.

It had already been suspected though that the Dark Tops were vulnerable down the middle. Jermaine split their midfield again with a deft ball for JakeFlowers to scamper on to. A player like Jake eats those chances up and he converted with aplomb to reduce the score to 3 - 2 to the Dark Tops.

A defeat was on the cards for the Bibs and we also noticed that the first of the next team were at the gate. In the big leagues, on the big money pitches, it seems they get ready to boot you off five minutes to the hour mark. Last knockings, ball somehow won by the Bibs on the half way line dead centre of the pitch, through ball passed down the middle into space, Dark Tops midfield just about opened up again. Who did the Bibs want on the end of the through ball? Behave! TAndrew wasn't playing nor was S or Tim or Nathan.

Cometh the hour, cometh the man. The ball went to JakeFlowers, there was still a bit to do but single-mindedly, in the best Tottenham tradition, all Jake saw was the goal. Nothing could stop him. Jake held off a defender and Bang! he buried the ball into the net. Very last kick of the evening Jake proved he is the man to put your house on when the chips are down.

I would normally say Let's do it all again this week at Tottenham Wednesday FC but next match is on 14 February which is Valentine's day so make your choices as to whether fitba is the right place to be.
